Questions
Fees and funding: frequently asked questions
Is my course government funded?
Government-subsidised training is available in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and the ACT. Whether you're eligible depends on your state and your circumstances, so use our eligibility checker to see which funding option suits you.
What's the difference between a traineeship and fee-for-service?
A traineeship combines paid work in an early learning service with your training, and is often subsidised by the state government. Fee-for-service means you pay the full course fee yourself, which suits people who aren't eligible for funding.
Which funding programs does KKTC offer in each state?
In Queensland, Career Start and Career Boost; in New South Wales, Smart and Skilled; in Victoria, traineeships in partnership with Wodonga TAFE; in South Australia, the Funded Activities traineeship program; and in the ACT, User Choice traineeships through Skills Canberra. Fee-for-service is also available.
Can I get funding if I already have a qualification?
It depends on your state's rules and the qualification you already hold. Some programs are for people who don't yet hold a qualification at the same or a higher level. Use our eligibility checker or talk to our team to check your situation.
Can international students get funding?
No. Government subsidies are for domestic students only. International students study face-to-face at our Southport campus and pay course fees; see our International Students page.
