The recent deregistration of the Australia Education & Career College (RTO 52865 owned by Luvium Pty Ltd) by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) has left over 7,000 early childhood education and care (ECEC) graduates in a difficult position regarding the validity of their qualifications. This decision, driven by serious allegations of the college issuing fake diplomas, has significant implications for both the graduates and the centres that employ them.
Standing with Our Community
The impact on these graduates is profound. Many are now working in essential roles within ECEC, child protection, and mental health care. The potential invalidation of their qualifications is not just a professional setback but a personal crisis as well.
Our Commitment to Support
KKTC Education is committed to supporting both the affected students/ graduates and the centres that employ them. As a values based RTO we are always disturbed to see such scenarios. With a focus on providing sector leading training at the highest possible levels of service and student satisfaction. To this end, we are offering a comprehensive support package that includes:
- Qualification Assessments: We will provide free assessments to verify the competencies of affected students/ graduates. This will help ensure that their skills and knowledge are recognised and validated.
- Training and Upgrading Programs: For those who need to update or complete their qualifications, KKTC Education will assess on a case by case basis how we can offer support. For trainees as KKTC is funded across multiple States, we can help troubleshoot a process of transfer for students/employers that can put their ‘minds at ease’. And for fee for service students impacted financially by the deregistration we will apply an empathetic approach to how we can enrol them and get them ‘back on track’ at a reduced rate.
- Career Counselling: As a specialist RTO in ECEC we can offer guidance and support to both students and their employers during this challenging time.
A Call to Action
We urge other educational institutions, industry associations, and government bodies to join us in providing the necessary support to these individuals. It is crucial that we work together to ensure that the dedication and hard work of these students is not overshadowed by the failings of their alma mater.
Looking Ahead
The deregistration of the Australia Education & Career College highlights the importance of maintaining high standards in education and training. At KKTC Education, we remain committed to upholding these standards and ensuring that all our students receive the quality education they deserve.
While the situation is undoubtedly challenging, we believe that with the right support and resources, the affected students can overcome this hurdle and continue to contribute meaningfully to their professions. We stand ready to assist and support them every step of the way.
