Training Fact Find – Help Get Your Educators Back on Track!
KKTC is now training in hundreds of centres across QLD, NSW and Vic and whilst many of these centres use KKTC exclusively, there are some where there are other RTOs training in the centre.
To determine whether these RTOs are delivering quality training we are offering centres and their educators the opportunity to complete a ‘Training Fact Find’ – an online form that asks a few simple questions.
Once the form is completed, we can determine if the educator and centre are receiving quality training or there are areas for improvement.
If you or any of your team feel there is room to improve then complete the ‘Training Fact Find’ and a member of our team will review the results and then be in contact.
We have developed the ‘Training Fact Find’ to help identify and then address the following issues:
Training is directly linked to quality service delivery. The ‘Training Fact Find’ is a great way to determine if your educators are growing and developing as educators.
Educators receiving limited training
Educators receiving training with limited ‘on the job’ practical skills development (often educators search on Google for Cert 3 or Diploma in ECEC courses and then realise after the fact they do not receive adequate mentoring on the job). If the course is purely online, this can lead to practical skills development shortcomings in the training.
Lack of active progression
We see this a lot where the educator falls behind because the RTO is not diligent or doesn’t have systems to track progress. By asking how many units the educator has completed this year we can quickly determine whether the RTO is diligent in progression. Being able to report on educators actively working towards at A&R is essential.
Model of training
Many RTO’s are to this day still hard copy mailing assessments and have paper based training and slow moving processes. By asking what training platform is being used can quickly determine how efficient the RTO’s model is for training. Paper, hard copy mail, email, text books are indicators of ‘old school’ learning and in today’s fast paced environment RTOs with those outdated models find it hard to keep the training ‘on track’, notably with timelines for trainees and apprentices which is very important.
Overall rating
On the ‘Training Fact Find’ we get the educators to rate their RTO. This gives a tangible number on how the RTO is delivering training. Anything under a 7/10 is room for improvement.
